Applying for Membership
NEW members are admitted twice a year, in February and September. The HILR Admissions Committee interviews and looks for candidates who are intellectually committed to active participation and informed discussion and who show a willingness to lead study groups and to serve on program committees.
The Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement values and seeks diversity in its membership for the enrichment it brings to its community and to its curriculum in literature, history, science, culture, and the arts.
We invite those who love learning to participate in our peer-led study groups and extracurricular activities. We have openings in the membership, and we are looking especially for new members who will bring a diversity of experiences and perspectives.

The application deadline for the for the Fall 2017 semester is April 9, 2017. We are currently accepting applications for that term.
